sunday start-up

Sundays set the tone for how the rest of my week goes, which for me means starting it at church with the Lord. However, fashion also impacts how I feel about the day, so I always try to put my best(-dressed) foot forward in an outfit that I hope inspires my looks for the week.

Because church is a place where I feel most at home, I use it as a place to experiment with different looks without any fear. Last Sunday I took a step out of my comfort zone with an outfit centered around a skirt, something that makes a rare appearance in my wardrobe.

Every time I go to a thrift store, I somehow always end up purchasing a skirt, but it usually remains on the hanger in my closet collecting dust. I bought this skirt not long ago, knowing it would most likely never see the light of day. After finding this top in my mom’s closet, I knew it would be the perfect match, giving me the confidence to wear a skirt-centered outfit, instead of  the ever-too familiar feeling of buyer’s remorse.

If you really like a piece of clothing, don’t have that fear that others will look at you differently. They may instead see the confidence beaming out of you and be inspired to take a step out of their fashion comfort zone.
