Wow. You made it to your last year of high school. I bet you are saying “I can’t wait to graduate and get out of this place” and “only one more year until freedom.” Before you say those things, please remember what will be gone when you graduate– seeing a familiar face every time you walk the halls of your high school, getting to have that movie day in your elective class, waiting in the school parking lot with all your friends before you have to miserably walk to your first class, and those unforgettable Friday nights when your only worry was if your football team would come out with a win. All these things will be gone in a span of a few months. Then, your worries will shift to tuition and figuring out how to do laundry.
You have heard from pass classes that “senior year went by so fast.” WE ARE NOT LYING. It goes by in a blink of an eye. One day you are putting on your senior jersey and the next you are putting on your cap and gown, so please enjoy this upcoming school year, class of 2017. Go to all of the sporting events you can. Go to your senior prom. Participate at the pep rallies. Be a leader. Enjoy one of the best times of your life.
“You who are young, be happy while you are young,
and let your heart give you joy in the days of your youth.
Follow the ways of your heart
and whatever your eyes see,
but know that for all these things
God will bring you into judgment.” Ecclesiastes 11:9
